In case you would still like to participate, please contact Katharina Witte (katharina.witte@noSpamberlin-partner.de). We will provide the login details.
In cooperation with Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, our PHOENIX network has identified two topics of potentially mutual interest: "quantum technologies" and "laser technologies for battery research and manufacturing", which will be addressed in two consecutive presentation blocks.
Quantum technologies for the development and use of novel sensors and for communication currently have the greatest potential for exceeding the threshold of practical suitability. In Japan, cooperations between industry and science in relation to research and development of quantum technologies is becoming increasingly dynamic, as weh ave learned. The Berlin government has lauched a 25 Mio. EUR initiative called „Berlin Quantum Alliance (BQA)“ to strenghthen applied research and technology transfer in quantum technologies. Berlin Partner and OpTecBB will be in charge for the coordination of industry related activities in the BQA and we plan to set up an international funding opportunity for companies and research institutions for 2023/2024.
Intensified cooperation in this area between the players in the German capital region and Japan is therefore very promising to us.
Innovative laser technology for use in battery research and manufacturing enables optimized manufacturing processes, efficient connections between the battery cells and new battery concepts. Japan is considered one of the leading countries in the field of modern battery research. As strategically important partners, regional companies can benefit from Japanese expertise and at the same time further expand their innovations. Berlin and our neighboring region of Brandenburg show strong initiatives in battery research and manufacturing, too, with companies like Tesla, BASF, BAE, Microvast and many more setting up production capabilities.
We would like to invite companies and research institutions from those fields to participate and join our ONLINE seminar on Friday, April 22nd, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. CEST (3:30 p.m. JST).
The seminar will be held in English.
